Discussion dinner night with Ambassador György Szapáry:

szaparyAmbassador György Szapáry will be coming to Boston to strengthen and develop new collaborations between the Hungarian and US business and political sector.
During his visit he would also like to meet the representatives and members of the local Hungarian community.

Ambassador Szapáry served as deputy governor of the National Bank of Hungary and as a member of the Monetary Council on two occasions, as well as advisor to the president of the National Bank of Hungary and senior resident representative of the International Monetary Fund in Hungary.

Prior to that, he worked at the IMF in Washington, DC most recently as assistant director. He is a member of the Economic and Financial Committee of the European Commission and of the European Central Bank’s International Relations Committee and member of the Hungarian Economic Social Council. Ambassador György Szapáry has also been a member of the Advisory Council for the European Studies Foundation in Budapest since 2002, a member of the Euro 50 Group since 2001, and a member of a steering group on public finances for the European Commission in Brussels.
He was appointed Hungarian Ambassador to the US in early 2011.
